Homework!

We are going to begin trying new strategies for our reading homework. You may see questions coming home for your children to answer about the book, or you may see a practice sheet for students to practice various skills. Your child may need help answering the questions. That is okay! We want them to have to think about what they are reading instead of simply reading because it is their homework.

Even if it is not part if their "homework" for the day, it is still a great habit to have your child read each night, whether it is a guided reading book, or a book of their choice!

Using Our Class Website

I want this website to be user friendly and a place where you can go to learn about what your children are doing while they are in school. I have posted resources for parents as well as students, our rules and expectations, and a look inside our classroom. Below is a tab by tab explanation of how to use this website!

The Home tab:
I will use the homepage to post any upcoming information. This is where you can find the week's homework, and special updates and reminders, and an overview of what your child will be learning that week.

The Mrs. Runnfeldt tab:
I will use this page as a way of letting parents and students get to know me. This page contains a brief bio as well as any relevant information about the teacher!

The Classroom Expectations tab:
This page will explain our school wide and classroom behavior plan and expectations. It also gives details about our school wide PBIS system, Tiger Tickets, and my classroom clip chart.

The Our Classroom tab:
If you would like to know what we are studying in class, and see what we have been doing throughout the year you will use this tab. I will try to keep it updated with student work, pictures, and videos of our class. If you would prefer not to have your student's picture on this page please let me know. :)

The Student Resources tab:
This is the place for students to go to find helpful websites, study tips, and anything kid-friendly and student centered.

The Parent Resources tab:
I want you to be involved in your child's education as much as possible. This website has resources that pertain to our school, the Common Core State Standards, and helping your children at home. If you have anything you would like me to add to this page please let me know.

I am so excited about using this website as a constant means of communication, and making sure you feel involved in your child's education! Don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions or concerns!
